Happy accidents in glazing
I almost threw this ugly little disaster vase out when I made it. It was a mess on the wheel, and I gouged out the rim while it was drying.
But then I decided to go ahead and glaze and fire it, just to test out more glaze combos, and to work on my fledgling skills with my sprayer. Just for grins, I tried dipping the rim after spraying on a few pots, and this one led me to finding a fun glaze combo to play with. It’s a commercial glaze on the rim called ancient jasper over a new white liner I concocted.
It’s still ugly and misshapen, but I love happy accidents like this that lead to new glazing discoveries
